This Therapy is Different
Sara K. Sauder
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Most pelvic floor physical therapy is internally focused. I believe in the importance of the pelvic floor muscles, but also value the role of the fascia which covers the body from head to toe. Like a whole body leotard, fascia affects our organ “talk”, the nervous system and the pelvic floor muscles. By combining care for the fascia, muscles, joints, hormones and nerves I am able to get the best results.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The first session is largely talking so I can ask a lot of invasive questions. I formulate an idea of the cause of your issues and a plan on how to move forward. After this session, treatments are pretty hands on. I do most of my work externally first, it’s different, I know.
-
Do not come in expecting to hurt. This is different than an examination from a doctor. Exams are typically poking and prodding, regardless of what that feels like to you. Therapy is about being therapeutic. Therapy is about making positive changes that your nervous system, your mind and your physical body can tolerate and grow from.
